Who we are

Mission

The mandate of the QBSCA is to bring together companies specializing in building services to represent them, defend their interests, and provide them with services, while contributing to the development of the building service contracting industry in general.

History

The QBSCA, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1967 and now counts more than 15 member companies. Our members employ more than 60 percent of the Québec workforce in the building service sector. They include companies with and without union affiliations, and both small and large companies (fewer than 50 employees vs. more than 1500 employees) are represented on the Board.

Accomplishments

The following are some highlights among the contributions of the QBSCA:

• negotiation and renewal of the collective agreement
• cabinet approval of the Decree respecting building service employees - Montreal
• administration of the Parity Committee, representing more than 1 000 companies
• participation in the regional committee for pay equity and orderly application of the Bill on Pay Equity for all its members
• support for ISO certification among most of its members
